When it comes to thriving in this high-content digital niche we call “fashion and lifestyle blogging”, little do we know someone with a canny flair in pulling off so many roles. Editor. Fashion Designer. Jet-setting Stylist. That’s an impressive array of titles under her belt (a Isabel Marant one to be exact), and Shea Marie of Peace Love Shea is one to get them all down pat, from catalog shoots to MOD style to high fashion!

With over 623,000 Instagram followers avidly subscribed to her personal lookbook (heavily influenced by SoCal boho chic vibes and sophisticated staples), I am one to be captivated by her effortlessly cool and edgy style! Not to mention her recent collaboration with Steve Madden conjured up a posh set of heels from croc-embossed loafers to corset-inspired lace-up boots. So you can image my excitement when the lovely Janet Lee Mandell of Fashionaholic invited me to attend The Coveteur x Peace Love Shea event hosted by Diesel. Nonetheless, I was in the twilight zone!
Inside the upscale Gold Coast boutique was a selection of Nicola Formichetti’s well-curated designs for the Italian lifestyle brand. From studded moto jackets to patchwork-embossed denim wear, every artistic creation was unique in design (like the “Think Once Dream Twice” emblem on the denim jacket) and devout to fine Italian craftmanship.
The event started off with a networking social whereby the exchange of Instagram accounts amongst Chicago bloggers was in full rotation. And so was my inquisitive mind. Excuse me maam, where did you get that awesome crop jacket?
An hour and 2 rounds of Moscow Mule later (splendid paired with mini BLT burgers and lobster tacos), the session began with a brief introduction by Stephanie Mark (the creative mind behind The Coveteur) where she talked about the website’s recent collaboration with Diesel featuring highly coveted pieces modeled by Shea Marie.
The two delightful ladies shared a great dose of behind-the-scene stories in the course of many projects together, from their cake-infused fashion shoot at Shea’s apartment (it was, according to the leading lady, from a crème de la crème bakery in Beverly Hills) to their globe-trotting travel tips (it’s all about downsizing and never rule out sweatpants).
The event came to a delightful halt when Shea Marie told us about her dream to one day design her own clothes. With her impressive resume of working in trend consulting prior to starting her sartorial blog, to her style-setting repertoire parallel to that of Olivia Palermo and Alexa Chung, we can clearly anticipate that highly coveted array of designs in the near future! Feline Creatures’ comment regarding her designer role? @Peaceloveshea – “Congrats to your new role. You did it again!”

Hi Naeun! Thank you for your sweet comment you really made my day! 🙂 Yes I truly admire Shea’s style and how it’s evolved from mainly boho chic to sophisticated MOD look that has her gracing the streets of Paris and Milan during fashion week! And thank you for your compliment on these black boots; I didn’t want to take the route of dainty heels and thought why not grunge it up a bit with these boots. Glad it turned out well! Have a wonderful rest of your day Naeun!! 🙂

Thank you Lauren so sweet of you to drop by!! Yes I’m an avid fan of lace but instead of going down the ultra-feminine route with dainty heels, I chose to grunge it up a bit with these bad boys. Glad it worked out well since the Diesel collection did relay more of an edgy + androgynous vibe 🙂 Thanks for your lovely comment dear have a FANTASTIC day!!

Thank you Femme that is very sweet of you; and I take your lovely comment to heart 🙂 Yes it was a fantastic event where bloggers got a chance to speak with Shea in person and learn about her experiences. I believe her next stop is SF, but if you’re in NY I’m sure that’s one of her destinations as she’s on tour with The Coveteur on the new Diesel collection. Maybe you can see when she will be in your neck of the woods? Anyhow, thanks again for stopping by, have a great one!

You look amazing Lena, like always! That belt makes such a difference in your outfit, adorable! 🙂

Thanks Pipsysl! Yes the belt was a last minute add-on (the dress came with a beige one and I didn’t think adding colorful jewelries was going to keep the look in tact). I’m glad it came out well! Thank you sweetie for your lovely comment, it’s always great to see you here! Take care! 🙂

Thanks Zaychishka! Yes those mini burgers were scrumptious! Ah good eye on the bags! That Tory Burch one is my favorite clutch which you’ve probably see me use it to amp up a neutral outfit, on the contrary this Marc Jacobs one that I picked up recently is a great way to add subtlety to an ensemble. I’d say for reasonably priced leather bags that are chic and classy these designers are the way to go! Thanks for your lovely comment, have a wonderful day Zaychishka! 🙂

For a second, I thought the lady on the right on the 4th photo was Nina Garcia. I would normally have thought of heels going with that dress, but I like how you dressed it down with those boots to make it less formal! Also, lobster tacos?! How fancy!! *drools*

Oh yes you’re right she does look like Nina Garcia! They have quite the resemblance 🙂 She’s actually the founder of The Coveteur and she’s got quite a delightful team! Have you checked out their website? They have a well-curated selection of fashion, health, food, and beauty stories and they really shed light on the artists & connoisseurs behind the creations. And thanks for your lovely comment on the shoes; it was really a last minute swap out with some strappy heels 🙂 And yes those lobster tacos were amazing!! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by Tiffany, have a great day!
