By the lakefront over looking Lake Michigan, gazing into the vast horizon of mere abyss.
Spring in Chicago definitely comes in a prismatic array of colors. From rosy pink petals to forest green, we are always within earshot of rich and radiant colors leading headway to summertime. One of my favorite colors this season is chambray blue–the soft pastel hue coincides with the cooling effect of the waters, which is ideal for pairing with sunlit colors like orange or fuschsia. Not to mention the lightweight plain-weave cloth allow breathing room for outdoor activities like strolling by the beach or rounding up the cattle for a session of beach volleyball (your bikini will thank you).
In my outfit today I paired a medium-toned chambray shirt with a flair skirt, incidentally bringing focus to the colors-of-the-rainbow details woven in the shirt. Because the blue is rather subdued, I added a framboise red lip to bring warmth to the semblance. Lace heals finished the look as they help contour the legs especially with A-line skirts resting above the knee; I would say they even bode well with a monotone body-contouring sheath which can be easily swapped into for a night out in the town.
For now, it’s time to sit by the lake front, take in the exquisite view of Lake Michigan, and sing ’em baby blues 🙂
